Acupuncture

A comprehensive session that includes acupuncture and, where useful, adjunctive techniques or herbal formulation — built around your individual TCM diagnosis, not a fixed protocol.

Sterile, single-use filiform needles are used, some roughly the size of a human hair, placed based on your specific presentation. If you're sensitive to or nervous about needles, options are available to adjust treatment for comfort.

Adjunctive techniques may include tuina, cupping, gua sha, heat therapy, herbal formulation, or moxibustion. Diet, movement, and daily lifestyle habits are often part of the conversation too, since they carry as much weight as what happens in the treatment room.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

These appointments focus solely on herbal formulation. Initial visits must be in person; follow-ups can be in-person or via telehealth for patients located in Maine.

Herbal medicine pairs naturally with acupuncture because it extends treatment into your daily life between sessions — though it also works well as a standalone approach. It's especially effective when the goal is building Qi and Blood.

We offer custom formulation in both raw herbs and granules, tailored to your individual diagnosis.

TCM diagnosis works differently than a Western workup.

Instead of isolating one symptom, it looks at the pattern connecting everything you're experiencing: sleep, digestion, energy, mood, cycle, pain. That fuller picture is what shapes your treatment plan, alongside anything already documented by your other providers.
